About Me

I’ve been moving, lifting, and coaching for most of my life. My journey with exercise started as a kid - playing team sports, exploring the outdoors, and eventually finding my way into a high school weight room. That first weightlifting course sparked something in me, and I’ve been strength training ever since.

In college, I was a Division I athlete, where I had the opportunity to train in a high-level weight room under the guidance of an excellent strength coach. She didn’t just tell me what to do - she took the time to explain why training worked. That experience made me feel strong, capable, and in control of my own body, and I wanted to help others feel the same way.

I became a personal trainer in 2013 and spent five years coaching at a boutique small-group training gym in Baltimore before transitioning to independent coaching. Since then, I’ve worked with clients from all backgrounds - different ages, abilities, and experience levels - helping them build strength, confidence, and a healthy relationship with movement.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve dealt with my own share of injuries, aches, and pains. I know firsthand how frustrating it can be when your body doesn’t move or feel the way you want it to. But I also know that strength training is one of the best tools for keeping your body resilient. Exercise allows me to manage discomfort, stay strong, and maintain the freedom to move the way I want - whether that’s in the gym, in my garden, or just through everyday life.

My coaching philosophy has evolved over the years, but a few things remain constant:
Exercise should be a tool for empowerment, not punishment. I focus on what your body can do, not what it needs to change.
There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. I take a collaborative, weight-neutral approach to training, adapting to each client’s needs and goals.
A supportive environment makes all the difference. Whether in-person or virtual, I create a space where you can train with confidence, free from judgment, expectation, or pressure.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Towson University and have completed certifications including:

While some certifications have lapsed, I’m committed to ongoing education and regularly invest in expanding my knowledge to better serve my clients. With over 11,000 hours of coaching experience, I’ve helped people from all walks of life move better, get stronger, and feel more at home in their bodies.

When I’m not coaching, you can find me in my garden, baking something delicious, reading sci-fi or fantasy, playing video games, or attempting to play tennis or golf (with varying success). And yes, I can absolutely be bribed with desserts of all kinds.
